In October 2009, Suck it and Sea was proud to welcome award winning chef and TV star, Heston Blumenthal, to Brighton.
Heston was filming Series 2 of his amazing Channel 4 programme, Heston's Feasts. In each episode, Heston takes a period of history or a theme and creates an extraordinary feast, exploring the bounds of creativity and imagination. Some of the ingredients used are frankly mind-boggling! Click here for more
Suck it and Sea appears in the first episode of the new series, due to be aired on 6 April at 9pm on Channel 4. In this episode, Heston will explore the psychedelic Sixties and create a Willy Wonka inspired feast which includes edible wallpaper and a chocolate waterfall.
We spent an entertaining afternoon with Heston and his production team, filming the introduction and the links between the various courses. They said that they were looking for a sweetshop which conjured up the feeling of Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory - and they found it in Suck it and Sea.
